How to become a member

Become a member in six easy steps:

1. Choose the membership that suits you best – should you need advice; please contact our head office for more information.
2. Download and complete an application form
3. Fax your completed application form with your proof of payment through to 011-675 3465 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
4. Supply all the necessary supporting documentation with the application form.
5. Once we receive your application it will be submitted at the next branch committee meeting for approval.
6. Once your application has been approved, your membership certificate will be posted to you and will be valid provided that all annual subscription fees are up to date.

Payment for individual membership is the responsibility of the individual and not the employer and is not transferable.

Membership is voluntary and should be considered a long-term investment in order to gain the maximum benefit. There are various membership categories to choose from.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIPS 

MEMBER          R 440.00 per annum incl. VAT
Any person who has been actively involved in waste management
for more than twelve months and is possession of a recognized qualification.                                                                              

ASSOCIATE MEMBER          R 350.00 per annum incl. VAT
Any person not eligible for member category above, but who is interested in or connected with some aspect of waste management.

RETIRED MEMBER          R 200.00 per annum incl. VAT
Any Institute member who is no longer actively engaged in or connected with waste management.                                                                                                                          

STUDENT          R 200.00 per annum incl. VAT
Any student actively engaged in a course studying to qualify in subjects approved by Council.

ORGANISATION MEMBERSHIPS 

SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY BASED ORGANISATION    
R 200.00 per annum incl. VAT

COMPANIES
1-10 employees R 1,400.00 per annum incl. VAT
11-50 employees R 2,200.00 per annum incl. VAT
51 + employees R 3,400.00 per annum incl. VAT                                                        

MUNICIPALITIES
Local Municipality – R 1000.00 per annum incl. VAT
District Municipality – R 2,200.00 per annum inc. VAT
Metro – R 3,100.00 per annum per annum inc. VAT

PATRON MEMBER          R 30,000.00 per annum incl. VAT
