The Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa's (IWMSA) Central Branch in partnership with The Waste Wizard look forward to hosting an exciting two-day Health Care Waste Management Training Course on 29 and 30 November 2017 at the Roodepoort Healthcare Risk Waste Facility in Florida, Roodepoort. This course includes a site visit to the incinerator.

Outline of the course

The course aims to facilitate knowledge transfer to open and run a compliant Health Care Risk Waste (HCRW) business.
The course is IWMSA recognised and is lectured by a facilitator with years of experience in the HCR waste field and provides comprehensive coverage of HCR waste management for over 25 years.

Aim of the course

The aim of the course is to provide some of the skills required to open and manage your HCRW business.

What topics will be covered?

  • Legal Aspects and legal requirements to open a HCRW business;
  • All aspects of HCRW management;
  • Waste Management Planning;
  • Containers and separation of waste streams; and
  • Costing and Price Strategy.

Pre-requisites for the course

It is advisable that learners:

  • Have a Matric Certificate.
  • Can speak, read, write in English to NQF 4 level.
